Kindly note that this is a full day excursion and we advise that you have only a small brakfast as lunch will be quite big.
We will collect you at 08:00 AM and we will travel along the scenic West Coast where we will meet the indiginous San (Bushmen) people, the first to be sighted when the Dutch settlers arrived here in 1652. We will be visiting the only heritage museum in South Africa dedicated to the San. A guided tour will show us how they lived and hunted many years ago. We will also have the opportunity to view game in the area, including: Eland, Blackwilderbeast, Springbuck, Bontebuck, Steenbuck, Duiker, Ostrich and Zebra. Visit www.khwattu.org
Afterwards we will travel further up on the West Coast to small seaside town called Langebaan, where a feast of seafood will await us at the famous restaurant. The dining experience here is quite different than any you may have encountered before. Patrons may take off their shoes as the restaurant is literally on the beach and most guests stroll around the beach before sitting down to eat.
The restaurant serves almost all seafood imaginable. Fish is freshly captures and cooked on an open fire, while bread is baked in ovens made with 44 gallon drums and mud. Many of the dishes are eaten with your hands or muscle shells as utensils are not available. One can expect a 10 course meal and all dishes are "bottomless."
Please note that the seafood experience is weather-permitting. During summer the restaurant is open on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. During winter the restaurant is open on a Saturday and Sunday for lunch only. It is therefore essential that this tour is booked in advance. In case the weather is bad on the day of the booking an alternative seafood restaurant in Langebaan with an A la Carte menu is avaialble for lunch.
